The police have confirmed that the violent protests in which 15 policemen, 12 protestors and two media persons were injured were pre-planned, and that they are going around the villages to investigate the matter.

Apart from this, the number of police officers deployed at Nevali Naka, which was more than 350 on Thursday, has been reduced to 200, as the situation is calm and under control.

The police have questioned more than 100 villagers till now, and continue to question more.

"We did not move out of our houses after we saw the police going to few of the villagers houses for inspection," said one of the villagers.

A police officer from Thane commissionerate said, "We have been patrolling all 15 villages round the clock. We suspect that people from other villages , besides Nevali, had joined the mob, which made the situation more tense. We have video footage and pictures of the suspected people, and are questioning their relatives and friends find out their location".
