Man stabbed five times in Mumbai’s Bandra for refusing to pass glass of water

A man was stabbed five times outside a hotel in Bandra (West) for refusing to pass a glass of water to a stranger in Bandra (West) on Friday. He is currently recuperating in the intensive care unit of a local hospital.

Police arrested the accused, Afroz Khan, 37.

Police said the incident took place at 10.30 pm on Waroda Road in Bandra (West). The victim was drinking water when Khan approached and asked him to pass one of the glasses of water inside the hotel.

The victim responded rudely, which enraged Khan, who grabbed a knife from the hotel and stabbed the victim.

Police registered a case under section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code. They said it was difficult to trace Khan initially, as he is homeless. They relied on their network of human intelligence to track him.
