A 22-year-old man was sent to police custody after a minor who was in a relationship with him said he allegedly molested her. The case came to light after the girl approached NCP MLA Jitendra Ahwad for help on Monday.
The police said Awhad called the man to sort the issue out, but he turned up with his friends and allegedly misbehaved with Awhad’s workers.
“The girl was very frustrated and had even tried to end her life,” Awhad told HT.
“When she told me about the man, we called him up but he came with 20 of his friends and beat up my people. He had to calm down when I walked in.”
Awhad said they were sorting out the issue, “but the girl was so frustrated, she slapped him many times,”
“As a father, I think I have done her justice.”
A police officer from the Naupada police station said the two knew each for a few months.
In her complaint, the minor said the accused would stalk her.
A few weeks ago, the girl decided to end her relationship with the accused but he kept stalking and calling her.
Awhad told HT the accused had threatened the girl if she did not agree to his demands. Patil was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Pocso.
