Mumbai: 18-month-old dies as stole tied to his cradle to keep him from falling gets stuck in his neck

The father had wrapped the child in a stole and tied its one end to the rod on top of the cradle so the child wouldn’t fall
An 18-month-old boy, Sushil Bawiskar, suffocated to death in his cradle in Andheri in Mumbai on Saturday morning.
Around 1pm, the child’s father, Yogesh Bawiskar, left to look for a rented home, leaving him wrapped in a stole in a cradle, along with his two sisters aged 3 and 4.

Bawiskar tied one end of the stole to the rod on top of the cradle to prevent him from falling.
However, the stole got entangled in the child’s neck, suffocating him to death, said police.
The father returned home around 2.30pm and found the child was dead.
The police have registered a case of accidental death.
The police are checking if someone had a role to play in the incident.
