Mumbai police find bag with Rs6.60 lakh valuables, return to owner

Mumbai city news: The bag belonged to a marriage party and the cops spotted it at Dadar in Mumbai

The Matunga police returned an unclaimed bag with jewellery and cash worth Rs6.6 lakh, which they found at Dadar station on Wednesday, to its owner.

The group had a reception in Mumbai. They had close to 20 bags with them. While keeping the bags in the vehicle outside the railway station, one was left behind.(HT)

“The bag belonged to a marriage party and our men spotted it,” said N Ambika, deputy commissioner of police, zone 4. The cops found a card of a banquet hall in Worli. “We contacted the hall and traced the owner,” said Balasaheb Kakad, senior police inspector, Matunga police station. “The group had a reception in Mumbai. They had close to 20 bags with them. While keeping the bags in the vehicle outside the railway station, one was left behind, which our men found,” said Kakad.
