The crime branch, which is conducting an investigation, also recorded the statements of two other youngsters who knew Kulkarni.

The police submitted its probe report in a sealed envelope in the high court on Tuesday and told court that they had arrested Kulkarni and are looking to arrest other accused. Meanwhile, the two girls had come to the court on Tuesday and their lawyer requested the court to allow them to intervene in the matter. However, the court directed them to first file the intervention application, saying that it will then decide whether to allow it or not.

According to the police, they brought the girls into the crime branch office from the high court and recorded their statements.

The police had initially approached the girls, but they did not come to office to record their statements.

During investigation, the police found a Delhi link to the case as Kulkarni was based from there.

A police team was sent to Delhi to investigate the case. The police team is still there to verify the allegations and investigate the people attached with Kulkarni.

After Kulkarni’s arrest, the police conducted a search at his residence and found sex clips in his mobile phone and pen drive.

The Mumbai police have filed a case under sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison with intent to commit an offence), 370 (trafficking), 292 (sale of obscene books act), 420 (cheating) Indian Penal Code and other sections of the Information Technology Act at the Malad police station.
