After a long wait, students finally had access to the first merit list for first year junior college (FYJC) seats after 1am on Tuesday.

The list was to be out at 5pm, which got delayed by 2 hours to 7pm. Later, the authorities said it will be released only after midnight.

After 7pm, the admissions portal was down and could not be accessed.

“We are expecting the list to be out by midnight. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to the students,” BB Chavan, deputy director of education, Mumbai region, said earlier on Monday.

The delay is on account of a new agency, Nysa, handling the portal this year.

More than 2.4 lakh students had applied for FYJC seats this year. “This is the first time the new agency is looking after the website, so the process is taking longer,” said Chavan.
