Mumbai suburban rail services hit by rains, roads jammed
Suburban services on all the three lines are running behind schedule
Heavy downpour with windy weather delayed suburban railway services on Friday morning during peak office hours. Suburban services on all the three lines are running behind schedule. BEST bus services, however, were running as per schedule.
Central railway’s main line services are running around 15-20 minutes late, while Harbour line services are delayed by at least 5-10 minutes. Western Railway services are also running 5-15 minutes late, although railways have not attributed the delay to the heavy downpour.
A commuter said he caught a 8.26am CST-bound train from Kalyan at 8.53am.
The Government Railway Police and BMC control said there are no reports of waterlogging as yet. Traffic on the road, however, has been slow moving because of the heavy downpour coupled with potholes.
Mahabaleshwar continued to record the maximum rainfall in the state with 159.2mm in the past 24 hours. Weathermen predict heavy to very heavy rain on Friday.
