A day after the city witnessed two major fires , two more were reported on Monday night. There were no casualties.

A major fire broke out in the Kajupada slum in Saki Naka, where the fire brigade had to deploy eight fire engines and six water tankers at 2.25 am. Another major fire was reported at a godown in Darukhana, Reay Road. The fire also spread to the nearby hutments in the area.

A senior fire official said, “In a short span, the city witnessed too many fire incidents. In all these, we also had to take extra precaution during the rescue operations with so many fire crackers around.”
