Taking a cue from Sanjay Dutt’s hit film, Munnabhai MBBS, a 30-year-old man recently looked to cheat in a railway police recruitment exam at Ghatkopar, but unlike Dutt, the aspirant was arrested.

According to the police, Deepak Gokul Joshi, 30, was caught telephoning his friend for answers. Joshi used his earphones and was on call with his friend through the exam.

An officer from Pant Nagar police station said, “Joshi buttoned his collar so that he can hide the wire of his earphones. He covered his ear with a hand and noted down the answers his friend dictated.”

According to the police, mid-way through the exam, the examiner noticed him talking. The police said the examiner was initially confused as he could not understand who Joshi was talking to, but later realised what was going on. The examiner caught Joshi with the phone and along with other teachers, took him to the police station.

The police said that Joshi, who hails from Ratnagiri, had been staying in Mumbai for a while in search of a job. It was his last attempt to clear the exams, the police said.
