Navi Mumbai receives 275-mm rain in 24 hours, highest this monsoon
Five trees fell down at different places due to the incessant rains. However, no injuries were reported.
The city of Navi Mumbai has received 275.7mm rains in the past twenty four hours. This is the highest rainfall the city has received in a day this monsoon.
According to the sources from the city disaster management cell, between 8.30 am on Tuesday and 8.30 am on Wednesday, Belapur received the highest rainfall (318.3mm). It was followed by Nerul (302.3mm), Vashi (251.8mm) and Airoli (230.40mm).
On Tuesday night, the rainwater submerged certain areas of the Sion-Panvel highway near Kharghar and Kalamboli. The traffic flow was partially affected because of that.

“The subways at Kopar Khairane, Sanpada and Airoli were inundated by the rainwater. Some areas of Turbhe, Digha and CBD Belapur also saw waterlogging,” said an official from the city disaster management cell.
