No special status for Pune’s Lavasa: NCP chief Sharad Pawar meets CM Devendra Fadnavis

Within hours after the Maharashtra government decided to revoke the Special Planning Authority (SPA) status given to Lavasa Corporation Limited to develop the private hill city near Pune, NCP chief Sharad Pawar met chief minister Devendra Fadnavis late Tuesday evening.

The details of the meeting is still under wraps as it was a closed-door meet.

The meeting assumes​ significance as the project is considered to be Pawar’s favourite. He had defended it saying that it was planned as the country had no hill stations developed after independence.

However, officials from the chief minister office confirmed the CM’s meeting with Pawar was in the schedule of the day.
