The process of pre-admission enrollment through online registration for students interested in undergraduate admission to University of Mumbai (MU) will end at 5pm today. Only those students who submit their online registration number along with admission forms to respective colleges will be eligible for admission and the first round of seat allotment will be declared on June 21.

MU extended its student registration deadline for undergraduate admissions by a few days this year. June 16 was supposed to be the last date for this process but with students still finishing the process, MU officials decided to extended pre-admission enrolment and submission of filled admission forms to individual colleges till 5pm on June 21.

Close to 2.98 lakh students have registered on the web portal and the number of applications has gone beyond 9 lakhs this year. “While BCom has always managed to attract more students every year, even BSc has shown a growing demand over the past few years. The admissions race keeps getting tougher with every passing year, and cut-offs are bound to increase,” said Kiran Mangaokar, principal of GN Khalsa College, Matunga.

While the three rounds of admissions by MU will continue till July 3, colleges will be allowed to sell admission forms once again post July 4 for the remaining vacant seats at their respective institues.
