The Shiv Sena has also singled out the former state revenue minister for the tear in its alliance with the BJP in the run-up to the 2014 legislative assembly polls.

Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been silent on ousted minister Eknath Khadse’s barbs about the ‘injustice’ meted out to him, the Shiv Sena on Wednesday slammed the senior leader, saying he is reaping what he has sowed.

“At times in politics, one has to reap exactly what one sows. Khadse is currently experiencing it. He had the joy of breaking the alliance with the Shiv Sena. But he must have not thought that his happiness will be so short-lived,” the party said in the Saamna editorial.

In an editorial in the party’s mouthpiece Saamna, the Shiv Sena has also singled out the former state revenue minister for the tear in its alliance with the BJP in the run up to the 2014 legislative assembly polls when the two parties had decided to contest separately, breaking a 25-year-old partnership.

The editorial further said that Khadse has been making empty threats, saying if he opens his mouth about other leaders it will cause a havoc.

“In the meantime, there have been earthquakes in Italy and some other parts of Europe, but Khadse’s supposed arsenal that he said can cause an earthquake here is still yet to blast,” the party taunted.

The former minister had to resign over purported impropriety in land deals and allegations related to being in touch with fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim. He has, however, publicly blamed the BJP’s current leadership, including chief minister Devendra Fadvnavis, for showing him the door. A retired judge is currently probing the land deal at Bhosari, Pune, which triggered his ouster.
