The Maharashtra state board is still to fix the dates for the 2017- Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams held in February-March every year. The board issued an advisory on Saturday evening warning students not to rely on fake exam timetables being circulated on social media recently.
The board will need to consult the Election Commission of India before fixing the dates for the upcoming exams as local self-government elections are scheduled in parts of the Maharashtra in December this year and February next year.
“We will release the official timetable on our website after consulting the Election Commission. We request students not to trust dates released on other websites,” said Krishnakumar Patil, secretary of the state board. The timetable will be announced on the board’s official website - www.mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in
Since the past four to five years, the board has been announcing the timetable early, by July-August so students can study in advance. Last year, the timetable was announced in July.
