A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by three youths, two of whom are minors, in the wee hours of Monday at an abandoned public toilet on PD'Mello road in south Mumbai.

The police said the victim, a resident of the Malwani in Malad, was asked to come to CST by a neighbour in his early 30s. The man then abandoned her there, after which she was raped.

The police have arrested the three who allegedly raped her and are on the lookout for the man who brought her to CST.

According to the Pydhonie police, the incident came to light when a police patrol van saw the victim walking on PD'Mello road at around 4 am.

The victim narrated the incident to them. They then caught the main accused, Abdul Rehman Siddique, 20, a resident of Jijamata Nagar, Worli. They also traced two other accused, both 15 years old. "The girl referred to her acquaintance as 'Kalu uncle.' She said that he asked her to wait at CST, saying he would bring them some food, and then vanished," said Dattatray Khuperkar, sub inspector, Pydhonie police.

Siddique spotted her sitting alone at the north end of platform 1, at around 12.30 am, police said. He told her it was not safe for her to stay there alone and asked her to come with him to his house, where his mother and sister would take care of her. In the meanwhile, her mother had registered a missing person's complaint with the Malwani police.

"Siddique took her to an abandoned public toilet and raped her there. The two minor accused, Siddique's friends, live in a slum nearby. They too raped the girl," said Khuperkar. The three work as labourers. The police are on the lookout for Kalu to see if he has any links with the accused.

The investigators have booked Kalu for kidnapping.
