More than 2,000 students and parents attended the last two Hindustan Times Campus Calling counselling sessions on Saturday at Prabhadevi and Thane. This was the last campus calling session for the year.
This year, more than 15,000 students and parents came attended the session held at 13 locations across the city in the past month.
The free session is divided into three parts of forty minutes each for arts, science and commerce. Counsellors from Youngbuzz talked about the various courses and colleges that students can opt for depending on their stream.
This year HT had introduced an Ask the Expert session where students could put forth their questions to a counsellor individually.
“I found out about the best colleges in Mumbai to do my graduation in science and also the different career options after that,” said Rita Desai, 16, a Class 11 student from Worli. “Even though I plan to pursue science, I attended the arts session too just so I am aware of other options.”
Parents, too, found the session useful. “My daughter, Vidhi and I, came to the session because she has just completed her Class 10 and is very confused about which stream to take up,” said Vinita Chopra, a resident of Mulund.
“In three hours she learned a lot about what she can pursue and she has decided to opt for commerce.”
