The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has inducted 17 puppies in their dog squads. They would monitor and strengthen the security arrangement across the suburban section on the Central Railway (CR).

“The inclusion of dogs would enhance the security measures at the stations,” said chief PRO, Vidyadhar Malegaonkar of CR. There would be eight kennels at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), three kennels at Dadar and two kennels each at Kurla, Thane and Kalyan. The inclusion of these canines would strengthen the overall integrated security system. “If a kennel is nearby, then dogs will get more time to rest,” said a RPF officer.
