2 arrested for looting trucks

Two Panvel residents were arrested last week by the Navi Mumbai crime branch for allegedly looting truck drivers who parked their trucks in the MIDC area of Taloja. Employees of companies located in the area were also targeted on their way back home.

Two Panvel residents were arrested last week by the Navi Mumbai crime branch for allegedly looting truck drivers who parked their trucks in the MIDC area of Taloja. Employees of companies located in the area were also targeted on their way back home.

The accused have been identified as Atmaram Patil, 20, and Avinash Tukaram Kadu, 18. They were arrested on April 19.

Deputy commissioner of police (crime), DT Shinde said, “The accused would forcefully stop truck drivers and employees working in companies situated in Taloja MIDC and loot them. Recently, they looted cash and valuables worth Rs42,500, which included a mobile handset." Both are in police custody.
