2 held at Mahim for stealing bike

The police chased and arrested two youngsters from Dadar on Wednesday for allegedly stealing a Bajaj Pulsar parked at Versova on August 20.

The police chased and arrested two youngsters from Dadar on Wednesday for allegedly stealing a Bajaj Pulsar parked at Versova on August 20.

Ameer Shaikh (20), one of the accused who is a professional dancer, confessed to the crime claiming he wanted to earn extra income by selling the bike. Vashin Shah (20), the other accused, is a school dropout.

The duo was asked to stop their bike near Mahim junction on Wednesday night by patrolling policemen when they sped.

Finding this suspicious, the officers followed them on their bike and arrested them from Rajabade Chowk in Dadar when they tried to abandon the motorcycle and tried to flee.

The Shivaji Park police got information from the Regional Transport Office (RTO), which proved that the bike belonged to one Jash Dharoo from Versova who had registered a complaint with the police.

The duo has been remanded to police custody till Monday.
