Police investigations had revealed that the thieves broke car windows and stole things. A trap was laid to nab the culprits. “The accused used very simple tools to open the car locks,” said Navi Mumbai police commissioner, Ahmad Javed at a press meet on Thursday.
The accused are Mohammad Abdulraja Phalke (48) and Fahim Shamim Akhtar Pathan (23). Ten laptops have worth Rs 3.08 lakh been seized.
Javed urged residents to take better safety measures. “There are a lot of security gadgets available including car alarms and locks. Residents must invest in these technologies so that their valuables will be safe.
Earlier, the police had cracked a case of house break-in and arrested Vijay Amand Baggadi (36) and Satish Shinde(31). They recovered gold coins weighing 5 gm, 2 mobiles phones, 2 watches, a pen drive and a laptop. The total stolen items amounted to Rs 20,000.
