Two security guards with a money-transferring bank were recently arrested for stealing Rs 3 lakh. Ravindra Sawant, 30, and Krishna Dede, 22, have been remanded in police custody until November 12. The police said the incident took place on October 27.

Sawant and Dede, who were on contract, were in charge of transporting cash to the Manikpur branch of the Union Bank of India. The total amount in the van was Rs 73 lakh. While putting the cash in the strong room, the duo stole Rs 3 lakh.

A case was registered against the duo since they did not report to work after the robbery. The police arrested them from their residence in Kanjurmarg and Ghatkopar respectively. “They have been remanded in police custody until November 12," said Chandrakant Jadhav, police inspector.
