Based on the college identity card, the Nehru Nagar police found that the girl hailed from Andhra Pradesh.

Divya was rushed to Rajawadi hospital where she was declared dead on admission. The girl did not leave any suicide note.

S Netke, sub-inspector, Nehru Nagar police station, said: “We have informed her parents about the incident. They are on their way to the city. They told us that Divya had been receiving treatment for some psychological ailment.”

“We found railway tickets dated November 23 in her purse,” said Netke.

The police plan to get more details from the girl’s parents. Prima facie, the police do not suspect any foul play. An accidental death report has been registered.
