More than 25,000 staff of the state judiciary are set to go on an indefinite strike from Tuesday until their demands for better salaries and other administrative changes are met.

The All Maharashtra Judicial Employees Union (AMJEU) confirmed the strike call. Last year, the Supreme Court had directed the state to follow suggestions made by the Shetty Commission, which calls for changes in the promotion and salary policy for judicial employees. The AMJEU alleged this was not done.
