Four unidentified persons stabbed a 26-year-old man to death at the Wadala Truck Terminus area on Monday.

The incident took place around 12.15pm, opposite the Lotus housing society at Pratiksha Nagar. The deceased, Anil Naresh Amkar, was on his motorbike when four bike-borne men attacked him from behind, the police said.

They stabbed Amkar several times in the stomach before fleeing. Locals rushed a profusely bleeding Amkar to the Sion hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Senior inspector of Wadala TT police station VB Bhosale said, “We suspect the involvement of a local group that had some past enmity with Amkar. We have registered a case of murder against the unidentified accused. No arrests have been made in the case so far.”

The officer said Amkar has three cases including a murder case registered against him.
