A 28-year-old man has been arrested by the Goregaon police for raping his 21-year-old stepdaughter. He has been identified as Rajesh Kushwa, a native of Bihar.

According to the police, Kushwa married the victim’s mother, a domestic help, in 2005. The incident took place at the couple’s home at Teen Dongri, Goregaon.

“He raped her twice between December 2012 and January 2013 while her mother was away at work,” said a police officer from the Goregaon police station. The victim lodged a complaint with the police on April 9 after which the accused went absconding. On April 21, Kushwa called up the girl and asked to meet her at a hotel in Goregaon. The police arrested him from there.
