3 Bhiwandi college officials suspended, re-exam on April 11

Confirming a leak of the final year BCom marketing and human resource management (MHRM) paper on March 27, the Mumbai University said it would conduct a re-exam of the marketing and human resource management paper (MHRM) on April 11.

Cracking down on BNN College, where the paper leaked, the university on Sunday suspended three of its officials. In a probable first, the university is also initiating a a Criminal Investigation Department enqu-iry into the matter.

More than 60,000 students will appear for the re-exam. University officials said the hall tickets and exam centres for the re-exam would remain the same. On March 27, an SMS containing questions that would appear in the MHRM paper the next day was circulated. Some of the questions in the SMS and paper matched.

“The university is concerned about the student community. As promised, we have taken drastic action against those responsible for this,” said Rajpal Hande, director of the board of college and university development.

A three-member committee comprising TP Madhu Nair, dean of the commerce faculty, ST Gadade, principal of CKT College in Panvel and TA Shiware, principal of Hinduja College at Charni Road, submitted its report to the board of examinations after an enquiry at the college on Saturday.

A news report on a TV channel claimed that the paper had leaked from the college the previous day.
