Four people were killed and 15 others were injured after a front portion of a five-storied MHADA-cessed building collapsed in Pydhonie area of South Mumbai early Thursday morning.
The front portion of the building, 'Rahim', collapsed at 1am.
"Four people died and 15 injured after the front portion of the building came down. Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority had already given the residents the notice to vacate the building, for repair work. A contractor was also provided but they did not vacate," an official said.
The deceased have been identified as Fatima Khatri (63), Mohammed Salman Abdul Aziz Khatri (45), Sikander Baaul (22) and Zaheer Ali Khan (25).
"Of those injured, 10 persons have been discharged," the official said.
