A 58-year-old woman was attacked and robbed by two men in Santacruz (East) on Sunday evening, two days after an elderly woman was assaulted and robbed of her valuables in Bandra.
Police said the victim, Vasanti Kashinath Naik, a resident of Golibar Road No 5 in Santacruz, was on her way home after buying vegetables. "Around 7.15 pm on Sunday, Naik was walking home when a man pushed her from behind. Another man then snatched her chain," said sub-inspector Viththal Salgaonkar of Vakola police station.
The robbers, Mohammad Nuruddin, a 22-year-old from Khar, and Imran ran in opposite directions, but locals caught one of them. "There were two men attacking me. When I called for help, people around rushed to my rescue," Naik said.
