After more than 850 pothole complaints were received last weekend, the Brihanmumbai Municipa Corporation's (BMC) pothole tracking website (www.voiceofcitizen.com) has received 616 more complaints.
The complaints, lodged from Monday, add to the total 1,681 potholes reported since June 1.The civic body, however, has only managed to fill 208 potholes.
“Most of the pothole complaints were reported on roads that are maintained by the central agency of the civic body,” said a member of Probity Soft the creators of the software.
On June 18, Hindustan Times had reported about how the website had received 850 complaints in just two days.
Out of the total 1,062 complaints received by the centra agency, only 320 potholes have been filled.
At the ward level, 443 complaints were received, but only 11 potholes have been filled so far.
Though the civic body said it was waiting for a dry spel to begin repairs, the number of potholes attended to has increased from 22 to 320 in the past three days.
However, commuters are stil facing a bumpy ride as more than 1,300 potholes are yet to be fixed.
“Commuters travelling on Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road have to drive through maximum potholes. There is no improvement yet,” said Pio Cutinho, a commuter.
