The management of Ramee Guestline Hotel in Juhu denied negligence on their part and said that the parents did not keep a watch over their seven-year-old son, Aditya Dube, leading to his falling from the sixth floor on Saturday.

Aditya, a Class 3 student of Janki Devi School, had gone with his family and their friends to the hotel for dinner.

While playing, he fell from a gap that was covered with an acrylic sheet and came crashing down from the sixth floor.

Aditya was rushed to Aarogyanidhi Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The family registered a case against the hotel management and the manager.

“Aditya climbed up a four-ft fencing and fell on the acrylic sheet after losing balance,” said a hotel staff, requesting anonymity. “Even though nobody saw Aditya climb the fence, we are sure that he did.”

The hotel authorities said nobody was allowed to go to the place where the boy fell from and so there was a fence around it.

However, the hotel management said they did not blame the family for approaching the police, but refused to admit their carelessness. “We are ready for an amicable agreement with the family,” another senior hotel staff said.

“We will take statements of the hotel management. So far no arrests have been made,” said Senior Police Inspector Deepak Katkade.
