A week after his son went missing from the Nair Hospital hostel, Dhiraj Singh is still clueless about his son’s whereabouts.

Satyendra Singh, 20, the first-year medical student at Nair Hospital medical college went missing on December 8 from the hostel. “I want my son back. But I do not know whether the police is doing anything to find him,” Dhiraj said.

On Sunday, Dhiraj, along with few Nair Hospital students and members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), went to the Agripada police station to get an update on the investigation. The college dean had filed a missing person’s complaint with the police.

“We submitted a letter to the police requesting them to tell us whether there has been any progress in the case. We are really concerned about our friend and want the police to speed up their investigation,” said a student of Nair Hospital.

Satyendra’s classmates claimed that the last time they saw him was on December 8 when he had appeared for a practical examination on campus.

“On Sunday, the main investigating officer was not on duty. We will visit the police station again on Monday to get the details about the case. If we feel that police is not doing anything then we will take further action,” said Sunny Lakeshri, secretary, ABVP.

S Mohite, sub-inspector, confirmed that a group of students had come to the police station with a letter. “The letter was a request for us to carry on the investigation at a faster pace. But, we are doing our best,” said Mohite.
