After dogging the police for eight months, actor Raghuvir Yadav was finally arrested on Friday. He was arrested from the Mumbai Central Terminus after his wife spotted him and his friend on Rajdhani Express.

The police were looking for Yadav, who is known for the TV serial Mungeri Lal Ke Haseen Sapne, since September 2009 in connection with a case pending in the Bandra family court.

His wife Purnima had filed a case seeking maintenance for her and their 19-year-old son after their separation in 1996.

But when he failed to appear before the court, despite summons, an arrest warrant was issued against him on September 19, 2009.

On Friday, Yadav and his friend, Roshni Achreja, boarded the train when Purnima, who was also on the same train, saw them. She informed the Mumbai Central GRP who detained Yadav and handed him over to the Dindoshi police.

“We have arrested him and will produce him in the court on Saturday,” said Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Kakade.

Yadav and Purnima got married in 1988. In 1996, the actor filed for divorce in Jabalpur and started living with Roshni. He was asked to pay maintenance of Rs 20,000 a month by the lower court, which the high court later brought down to Rs 10,000. Purnima claimed that he failed to pay maintenance.
