While the state is under pressure to table the Adarsh commission report as the statutory six-month period of tabling the report has already lapsed, members of the controversial Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society at Colaba launched an official society website — — on Tuesday.

“It is our attempt to bring out the truth. We have explained the entire case and supported it with more than 40 documents,” said retired brigadier TK Sinha, chairman of Adarsh society.

The six-storey building went on to become a 31-storey tower on a disputed plot of land that the society had sought for housing retired defence personnel, politicians and bureaucrats.

The case saw the then chief minister Ashok Chavan losing his position after his in-laws were found to be members of the society.

Nearly 21 state bureaucrats have directly or indirectly bought flats in this tower or allegedly helped to clear this tower.

“Many lies have been repeated over and over again, which have made it seem like the truth.Several generals and mediocre bureaucrats misrepresented facts without adequate study,”Sinha said.

The website, which is divided into several sections, talks about the truth about Adarsh, a documents gallery, which has documents including opinions, affidavits, letters and decisions related to Adarsh.

Residents are also keen that the government table the commission report soon.

“There is no point withholding the commission report. We want it to come out so that everyone knows the truth,” he said.
