The script submitted to get the no-objection certificate for the AIB Roast was of an earlier show of the group, four directors of the production house, Only Much Louder (OML), that organized the show said in their statements.

“The script that was given to the Rangbhumi Prayog Parinirikshan Mandal to get the NOC was totally different from the actual script. When the OML directors were asked about it recently, they said they had submitted the older script by mistake,” said a police official.

“We compared both the scripts and found they are different,” said Nagesh Jadhav, senior inspector, Tardeo police station.

An additional application submitted by Agnelo Fernandes, head of Maharashtra Christian Youth Forum, alleged the licence for the show was obtained by misinterpretation and so the accused are guilty under section 420 of the IPC. “If they have submitted the wrong script deliberately, action will be taken,” said S Jaykumar, deputy commissioner of police, zone 3.
