DJ Jolly, the disc jockey arrested by the Bandra unit of the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) two weeks ago, for peddling drugs has revealed names of several celebrities and disc jockeys who bought drugs from him.
During interrogation, the 24-year-old accused, also known as Baljeet Singh, also revealed names of the sources from whom he bought the drugs.
One of the leads that DJ Jolly gave the ANC officials has helped them in arresting one of the major cocaine suppliers in the city.
The accused identified as Yusuf Okonsa, 28, is a Nigerian national and was arrested from Malad on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip off, a trap was laid and Okonsa was arrested while delivering cocaine to another person. Ten grams of cocaine was recovered from Okonsa while four grams was recovered from the person who had come to buy the drug from him.
According to ANC officials, it was Okonsa who supplied cocaine to DJ Jolly who then sold it to his clients.
According to the ANC officials, Okonsa has been peddling drugs in Mumbai and few other cities through his network and contacts in the Mumbai party circuit. ANC officials are further investigating Okonsa’s sources.
A senior ANC officer said “Okonsa frequented several pubs and discotheques in the city and this is how he came in touch with DJ Jolly. Jolly also introduced him to few other disc jockeys who bought drugs from him. These disc jockey’s will be called and questioned.”
The officer further added “Okonsa has a very well built physique and does not cooperate with us during questioning. Also he has been physical with our officials.”
