andheri suicide case

Radha Alkar, the 39-year-old wife of Santosh, who killed his two children and later committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his Andheri residence, was admitted to a private hospital.

"Radha has been extremely sick ever since she arrived in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon and has been vomiting incessantly. She was treated at a private hospital and is now in a better condition. She still can't come to terms with the reality," said Santosh Dotre, her cousin.

The police said the bodies were sent to Sion hospital for post mortem after Radha identified them.

"Their post mortems are done and the bodies been handed over to the family for the last rites. A funeral is scheduled to take place on Saturday. However, we have not been able to record Radha's statement yet because is she unwell," said Pradip Gosavi, senior inspector, Andheri police station.

Her relatives said that Radha had been to Singapore a year ago to work as a domestic help with an Indian family.

"She left home because Santosh was unemployed and she wanted to make money to ensure a good future for her kids. She misses them a lot," said Dotre.
