The murder of MiD DAY's senior crime reporter J Dey in broad daylight in Mumbai today has sent shock waves in Bollywood, with several B-town personalities expressing grief and shock.

The murder of MiD DAY's senior crime reporter J Dey in broad daylight in Mumbai on Saturday has sent shock waves in Bollywood, with several B-town personalities expressing grief and shock.

Dey, who extensively covered underworld and crime for English tabloid MiD-DAY, was shot dead on Saturday afternoon by four unidentified men in suburban Powai.

"My condolences to the family of the slain journalist Mr J Dey.. Sometimes courage is never appreciated.. Sad," actor Aftab Shivdasani said on twitter.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar said, "I'm stunned and benumbed by the sad demise of J Dey a courageous crime journalist...RIP."

"I remember J Dey as a cheery chap who covered a dirty beat. Gentle giant, we called him at the Express. Always had a juicy scoop to share!," Film critic Rajeev Masand tweeted.

"Shocking news: just in that MiD DAY reporter J Dey has been shot dead. Truely a sad moment! RIP Deyji," actress Minissha Lamba said.

"The war is on. RIP J Dey," actor Ranvir Shorey said.

Actress Sonam Kapoor, said, "Horrible and shocking".
