Brace yourself for 35 per cent water cuts for the next few days. The civic body has said it will be forced to impose an additional 20 per cent cut to the existing 15 per cent cut after an arterial pipe burst open near Bhiwandi on Monday.
The additional cut began on Monday evening. “A lot of water was wasted. We will have to compensate by intensifying water cuts,” said a BMC official, requesting anonymity. “We will take more than two days to fix the pipeline as the crack is big.”
The western suburbs will be the worst affected by the pipeline burst.
