The ride to the examination centre will be a little smoother for students, thanks to the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST).
It has decided to allow students appearing for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams to board the bus from the front.
"We don't want children to face difficulty while reaching examination centres due to crowded buses," said the BEST spokesperson.
The HSC exams began on Tuesday with papers beginning from 11 am.
The students also face problem in the afternoon when many would be returning home after the paper - the same time when government offices and banks finish their day's work.
All those students having bus passes will also be allowed to use the same pass till their examination hall.
This would mean that students appearing for exams could use the same pass for reaching their centres without buying a fresh ticket if their school is not their examination centre.
BEST bus drivers, conductors and ticket checkers near schools have been advised to assist the students so that they reach their examination centers smoothly.
