Bhuleshwar robbery bid: cops count on CCTV footage

The LT Marg police said that seven CCTV cameras have footage of the four robbers who who managed to escape after a failed bid to rob a courier firm in Bhuleshwar on Thursday.

Investigators are now ascertaining their identities.

Mohamad Kazi Ussad Ali, 33, who was caught and then thrashed by locals, is recuperating in the hospital.

An officer with the LT Marg police station said, “Once Ali is discharged, we will interrogate him.”

The official added that two teams have been formed to trace the remaining four gang members.

On Thursday, the armed-robbers entered Rameshkumar Kantilal and Company Angadia in Popatwadi area of Bhuleshwar at around 3pm.

While they were escaping, one of the workers of the courier firm raised alarm. The crowd that gathered outside managed to get hold of Ali.

While his associates escaped, Ali was held with Rs. 3 lakh in cash and a country-made revolver.

Two staffers of a neighbouring shop were injured during the scuffle when the accused hit them with the gun. The LT Marg police have registered a case against Ali and his associates.
