BJP workers fast in Mumbai to express support for Modi

In support of the three-day 'sadbhavna' fast launched by Gujarat chief minister and BJP leader Narendra Modi, around 30 party workers are on a day-long fast at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.

In support of the three-day 'sadbhavna' fast launched by Gujarat chief minister and BJP leader Narendra Modi, around 30 party workers are on a day-long fast at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.

Mumbai BJP president Raj Purohit said the state unit of the party supported Modi's fast for "peace, unity and communal harmony" in Gujarat.

BJP leaders including former Union minister Ram Naik, Jaywantiben Mehta and others were present at the venue.

Leader of the opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Eknath Khadse, leader of the opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Pandurang Phundkar and former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya would be joining Modi's fast for a day in Ahmedabad, the party had said on Friday.
