Model-turned-actor Aryan Vaid got into a heated argument with the traffic police officers on Sunday, when they approached him with breathalysers as part of a campaign against drink-driving.

The officers stopped the actor at a Nakabandi in Juhu around 11.50pm. However, Vaid refused to submit to the breathalyser test, claiming he was not drunk, the police said.

According to the police, the actor started abusing the constables. The drama went on for around half-an-hour. The constables called up the Juhu team for help when Vaid threatened to call media. "A mobile van reached the spot and Vaid was taken to Juhu police station. There, he finally he cooperated with the police and the breathalyser test was conducted. It was found that he was not under the influence of alcohol," said V Dhatrak, senior inspector, DN Nagar traffic police station.

However, Vaid had a different story to tell. "When they asked me breathe into the breathalyser, I only insisted that they use a new pipe for me. One of the constables got aggressive. I then started my phone camera to record the incident," said Vaid.

In the video, which is in HT’s possession, Vaid seems to be talking calmly, while the constable has lost his cool more than once. "When they took me to the police station, the media had arrived. I then decided to submit to the test and was cleared. I lodged a non-cognisable complaint against the traffic cop," said Vaid.
