In yet another bomb-hoax, the entire Fun Republic Mall located on Link Road in Andheri (West) had to be evacuated on Tuesday afternoon after they received a call claiming that a bomb had been placed in the theatre in the mall.

The receptionist of the mall received a call at around 2.45pm. The anonymous caller informed the receptionist that the bomb would explode during the interval of the ongoing movie and to take measures to prevent it. The receptionist informed the manager who in turn immediately intimated the police. Within minutes the police along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) reached the spot.

According to the Amboli police who are investigating into the case the entire mall had to be evacuated, in order to make sure that no one was at risk. A thorough search was conducted of the premises.

After over an hour-long search, the police and the BDDS did not find any explosive inside the mall. The police are now trying to trace the caller police who made the hoax call.

An officer from Amboli police station, requesting anonymity said, "We know it is a hoax call as soon as we receive the information but we cannot take the risk of not checking the premises."
