A hunt was launched for three automobile shop owners who allegedly cheated six people by taking advance payments for motorcycles and fled with the money. The police said Manish Goyal, Hitesh Dedhia and Anil Lahane, cheated customers of Rs3.6 lakh. The complainant, Mohan Kurup, said he was to get possession of a motorcycle that he had booked worth Rs1.19 lakh on February 28.
“When I did not get it, I called them up but their cell phones were switched off,” he said.
Kurup found five others who were similarly cheated and they approached the Malad police station on Sunday.
