The Mulund police, which arrested three persons in connection with a car-jacking case, said, on Tuesday, that one of the accused is a history-sheeter, who is wanted in a murder case in Rajasthan. Two more are still wanted in the case.

The police had, on Monday, arrested Parvesh alias Rinku Dubey, 27, and Shivam Kuswah along with a 15-year-old, residents of Kalyan (East) in the car-jacking case.

"Dubey was involved in a murder case registered with the Dhindhar police station in Udaipur. He has been evading arrest for the last seven years," said Ravidatta Sawant, inspector, Mulund police station.

The police cracked the case with the help of a mobile phone number used by the accused to contact a travel company to hire an Innova van to travel to Shirdi on April 14. Hours after hiring the vehicle, the gang threw the driver, Gyanchand Bhartiya, out of the van near Kalyan.

The police said they checked the call data record of the travel company and got the mobile number used by the accused. "The accused wanted to make money by selling the vehicle in Uttar Pradesh," said Sawant.
