The Kherwadi police are still on the lookout for two of the four accused who knocked down police assistant sub inspector Dattu Sarnobat when he tried to stop them from stealing a car on Friday morning. Two of the four accused were arrested within hours of the incident. According to an official from the Bombay hospital, Sarnobat has been put on ventilator support and remains in critical condition.

Senior inspector Avdut Chavan said: "As we know the identity of the two accused who are on the run, we should be able to arrest them soon."

The accused had forcibly taken possession of a Swift Dzire from its owner. Sarnobat tried to stop them but was hit by the speeding car. He landed on the bonnet of the car before being thrown off after 15 feet.
