A cash award for anybody who finds the two-year-old or his father.

That’s what a circular put out by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has announced in connection with Nanaksingh Biji, who abducted his son Gurashish after falling apart with his wife in 2008.

The CBI has also issued a lookout circular for Biji.

The CBI had registered a case against Nanaksingh on July 24 after the Bombay High Court had handed over the probe to trace the missing child abducted by Nanaksingh.

On July 8, the Bombay High Court directed the CBI to take over the case and trace the child. The child’s mother, Manpreet, had filed a habeas corpus (produce person in court) petition.

Manpreet had filed the petition last year after her estranged husband Nanak Singh abducted their son in January 2008. He has been missing since then.

To get some leads, the CBI issued a lookout circular for Nanaksingh and Gurashish. It declares a reward of Rs 50,000 to “any person who provides definite clues/details about the accused and missing child or their present whereabouts.”

Manpreet, a Bandra resident and Nanak Singh, Nashik resident, had an arranged marriage on February 19, 2006.

Gurashish was born on January 9, 2007. Things between them got worse and one day Nanak Singh walked out with the child.
