The Amboli police, on Thursday, registered a case of robbery against three unidentified persons, who stole cash worth Rs 2 lakh from a jewellery firm in Andheri.

The incident took place at 11.30 am in Carats and Ounces Jewellery Pvt Ltd located on the sixth floor of Janki Centre in Veera Desai Road.

Sameera Sheikh, the receptionist and the complainant in the case told the police that she was the only one present in the office when the men came and tied her hands and gagged her before locking her in the pantry.

Around 1.30 pm the peon of the firm came in and found Sameera in the pantry, said the police.

“Sameera was not sure how much cash the trio had made away with. It is only later that the owner of the firm, Shishir Dharkar informed us that the men made off with Rs 2 lakh,” said Kailash Ghamande, senior inspector of Amboli police station.
