Maharashtra chief secretary JP Dange was visited by a three-member team from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday, which gave him a letter asking him to get 8 state departments to hand over documents related to the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society.

The team headed by joint director, Mumbai-1 zone, CBI, Rishi Raj Singh, and including superintendent of police, CBI’s anti-corruption branch Abhin Modak, who is the main investigating officer of the case, had a 15-minute meeting with Dange at Mantralaya. Singh confirmed that a team met Dange and gave him the letter. Dange said, “We will provide all documents, but I will have to consult the CM first.”

CBI’s meeting with Dange came after the preliminary enquiry (PE) case was registered in the Adarsh society irregularities on Monday.

The CBI is also probing role of defence officers including those from the department of defence estate and area commander, and also state bureaucrats who gave the go-ahead to the society.
